In the heart of our proud nation Malta, the Great Siege Monument stands as a testament to the resilience and unity of our people. However, we find ourselves in the shadow of actions that threaten its sanctity.

Joe Zammit McKeon
A ruling from a former Chief Justice, with just a stroke of a pen, envisioned this sacred site being sold. Such decisions, marked by the hand of Judge Joe Zammit McKeon, have led to turmoil—turning our cherished monument into a battleground, a repository for discord rather than the valor it commemorates.
Since October 2017, the monument has endured indignities under the weight of that ruling, seeming to push us toward chaos. Yet, amidst these challenges, the people of Malta stand resolute. The turmoil has brought change, as our voices rise in unity through the campaign, “The Great Siege Monument is Ours.” This movement symbolizes not just a physical reclaiming of space but a reclaiming of the spirit embodied by our heroes of yesteryears.
This monument, once the focal point of singular protest, now reflects the broader spectrum of voices across our nation. It has become a platform where every Maltese can exercise their right to freedom of expression, proving once again the indomitable spirit of our people. Whether in support of, or opposition to certain narratives, our right to express stands firm.
We continue unwavering in our mission to return the monument to its rightful place as a symbol for all, a beacon of national unity. In the spirit of democracy and liberty, we will not falter. The Great Siege Monument is and will be, unequivocally, for every citizen of Malta. Together, we will restore its rightful glory and keep it a monument not just of our past, but of our enduring unity and strength. Malta, forever resilient, forever proud.
