When faced with accusations of domestic violence and the illegal arrest of his own wife, Aquilina’s line of defence was as cowardly as his alleged acts: he blamed his wife’s mental health.

We believe her. We believe Mrs. Aquilina – not a coward like Robert Aquilina who has proven he will say anything to avoid accountability for his actions.

Experts in the field of domestic violence have confirmed to this site that such a defence is textbook abuser behaviour. Blaming the victim’s mental health to undermine her credibility is one of the oldest and dirtiest tactics used by domestic aggressors to escape justice.

This is an alarming situation. Here is a man who pontificates himself as a puritan of the Rule of Law, yet when his own actions are scrutinised, he chooses to degrade and humiliate the very woman he vowed to protect.
