I couldn’t believe my ears when I heard Dr. Valentina Cassar on TVM News lecturing the public about the Trump–Putin Summit. What she delivered wasn’t analysis — it was spin. Half-truths, omissions, and a clear political agenda dressed up as “academic commentary.”
She claimed the summit wasn’t “prepared” because it was announced only days earlier. Wrong. Steve Witkoff, United States special envoy had been in Moscow several times beforehand. On summit day alone there were six phone calls between Washington and Moscow. That’s not improvisation — that’s diplomacy at work. But of course, Dr. Cassar left that out.

Then came the most laughable comparison: Trump’s warm welcome for Putin vs. his cooler encounter with Zelensky. Really? Is she seriously comparing the leader of a global power — co-founder of BRICS, key player in world politics — with someone whose presidency expired more than a year ago? Zelensky lost legitimacy long ago. From president, he slid into would‑be dictator, clinging to power without elections. And yet Dr. Cassar thinks this is the yardstick to measure diplomacy? Unbelievable.
But her real blunder was parroting the propaganda that Putin needed this summit to “re-enter” the international community. What planet is she on? Russia is already a pillar of BRICS, a bloc representing over 40% of the world’s population and nearly half the global economy. With the new BRICS+ members, they’re stronger than ever. That’s not isolation — that’s multipolar power.

Academic Dr Valentina Cassar
Dr. Cassar didn’t deliver analysis. She delivered the narrative Brussels and Washington cling to while the rest of the world moves on. Instead of educating the public, she tried to mislead it. And in doing so, she exposed herself: less an academic voice, more a mouthpiece for a failed script.
Trump and Putin just slammed the door in the EU’s face and exposed Zelensky for the powerless puppet he is. That’s real leadership — bold, unapologetic, and grounded in global power shifts no biased commentator can deny.
Dr. Valentina Cassar, take note: Malta doesn’t need twisted narratives. The public deserves truth, not Brussels‑approved propaganda.
History is being written by Trump and Putin — not by EU mouthpieces and their puppets

I wonder and ask about the intelligence and professionalism of our supposed academics
