The Times of Malta has once again proven itself to be less a newspaper and more a megaphone for the Nationalist Party. Its so-called “editorials” are not about truth or balance, but about pushing the PN’s bitter political agenda through distortion and selective outrage.
What the editorial conveniently ignores is that public life is not black and white. Experience in governance, industry, and public administration cannot be brushed aside just because it does not fit the partisan narrative that the PN’s mouthpiece wants to impose. Malta deserves honest journalism, not constant attempts to discredit Labour figures while giving a free pass to the Nationalist establishment, whose own history of corruption, arrogance, and betrayal of the people is conveniently forgotten.
The hypocrisy is staggering. When it is PN insiders or blue-eyed boys being recycled into cushy posts, the Times looks the other way. But when it comes to Labour, the knives are always out, sharpened with malice and dishonesty. This is not journalism; it is propaganda dressed up as editorial concern.
Maltese people are not blind. They know the Times of Malta has long abandoned credibility, and every attack of this nature only confirms that it remains nothing more than the Opposition’s loyal echo chamber.
