A Lesson in Political Failure: Adrian Delia and the €400 Million Illusion

From “Criminal’ Lawyer” to Labour Party’s Greatest Gift

When he first started out as a lawyer, Adrian Delia dreamed of becoming a top criminal defender — a man who would make a name for himself by defending Malta’s worst. But as with everything else in his life, he failed miserably.

He lost his very first case, and nobody ever hired him again.

Adrian Delia is a failure.

A failed lawyer, a failed leader, and a failed politician.

The Comeback That Turned Into a Circus

After being kicked out as Leader of the Nationalist Party, Delia tried to rebuild his career on one cheap slogan:

“€400 million stolen!”

He repeated it like a broken record, hoping it would make him relevant again, maybe even help him win back the leadership.

But when he tried again last September, he lost — to a political child. Another humiliation added to a long list of personal defeats.

Delia lied to the public as much as he could, waving court papers and pretending to be the “people’s crusader.” He sold fantasy as fact, until the fantasy finally collapsed under the weight of truth.

The Bubble Bursts

Today, the bubble has burst — right in his face.

The judgment issued by the international arbitration tribunal destroyed the €400 million lieonce and for all.

According to the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) ruling, the Government of Malta received just under €890 million worth of value from the hospital concession, while Steward Healthcare received less than €885 million.

The difference? €4.78 million, which the Government is now required to pay to Steward.

That’s it. No €400 million missing.

No scandal. No theft.

Just one man’s political lie exposed for what it was.

The ruling confirmed one simple truth: Adrian Delia is not just a failed lawyer — he’s a political failure of the highest order.

When You Fight, and Lose Against Yourself

Delia thought he was attacking the Government.

He didn’t even realise that, by winning his court case, he handed the hospitals right back to the Labour Government.

Irony at its finest.

While he was celebrating his “victory,” we were celebrating even more.

Thank you, Delia!

You solved our problem.

You gave us back control.

You became the Labour Government’s best lawyer — without even knowing it.

The Labour Party’s Secret Weapon

Let’s say it clearly: Adrian Delia is the Labour Party’s best asset.

Every time he opens his mouth, the Nationalist Party loses a vote.

Every time he appears on camera, the Labour Government looks more competent, more serious, and more united.

If Labour had to dream up a perfect double agent inside the PN, they couldn’t invent someone better than Adrian Delia.

He does the job for free — with enthusiasm.

The Man Who Defeated Himself

Adrian Delia is the living example of how a politician can destroy his own career with his own hands.

He built his image on lies, ego, and theatre — and ended up becoming the punchline of Maltese politics.

From “criminals’ lawyer” to gift to the Labour Party, that’s the real story of Adrian Delia.
