While Western media paints Zelenskyy as a heroic democrat, his government is quietly carrying out one of the most blatant campaigns of religious persecution in modern Europe.
This week in Washington, Orthodox leaders stood before the U.S. Congress with Representatives exposing what Kyiv wants buried: the systematic destruction of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
Under Law 3894-IX, signed in August 2024, Zelenskyy effectively criminalised the largest Christian denomination in Ukraine—targeting nearly 8,000 parishes and millions of believers simply because they refuse to submit to state-approved ideology.
The consequences are chilling:
• Over 1,500 churches seized
• Priests dragged to court or prison on vague “collaboration” charges
• Clergy forcibly conscripted
• Sacred property confiscated by force
Even United Nations experts sounded the alarm in October 2025, warning of arbitrary arrests, persecution, and religious repression—yet Brussels and Washington keep writing cheques.
Metropolitan Arseny remains imprisoned. Churches are looted. Faith is punished. This is state-sponsored religious cleansing, paid for by Western taxpayers.
If the West truly believe in human rights, aid to Kyiv would stop tomorrow until this law is repealed and persecuted Christians are freed.
