A Crisis of Confidence – Why Joseph Zammit McKeon Must Step Down

The facts are clear. The questions are unanswered. The damage is mounting.

Dr. Monica Borg Galea’s appointment may not be illegal, but it reeks of ethical indifference. Her rapid ascent from Ombudsman assistant to magistrate — via a process overseen by her former boss — is indefensible in the court of public opinion.

Zammit McKeon has refused to say whether he recused himself. Instead, he hides seems to be hinding the cloak of arrogance.

Institutions survive not on paper safeguards, but on public confidence. That confidence is now broken.

The Ombudsman must embody the highest standards of transparency and impartiality. In this case, Joseph Zammit McKeon has failed.

For the sake of the Ombudsman office, the integrity of the judiciary, and the trust of the Maltese people, Joseph Zammit McKeon must resign.

You are 101 perecent right about this nazzjonalist jinten seba pesti. But the facts remaun that Dr. Monica Borg Galea’s appointment is not illegal. Her case is just one of those helping hands that once they materialize nothing can be done about them.
